1) The Bachalpsee Loop
It is a single trail with one of the most stunning views!
It is suitable for beginners but also exciting for advanced riders. It is a well-balanced ride that requires quite some weight shifting to overcome obstacles, step riding, including safe cornering, and a good braking technique. As a beginner please be prepared perhaps one of the other trails are more suitable for the first time.
Riding up to Grosse Scheidegg is an asphalt trail from Grindelwald and from there a gravel road brings you up to First and guides you to Lake Bachalp. It’s for sure one of the most beautiful scenic views in the entire region. On the 13km ride down it is a mix of rock slabs, stepped passages, meadows, and woods and is a super nice 1,200 meters downhill run. More info here.
2) Kleine Scheidegg Loop
This trail will be remembered for its magnificent views given the fact that it guides you alongside the Eiger North face. It is a nice asphalt ascent with a challenging steep gravel ascent and descent before you get to Kleine Scheidegg. From Kleine Scheidegg you then hit direction Lauterbrunnen with an almost 1400m altitude difference. The easy to medium demanding trail promises a lot of fun and will approx. take you 5.30h.
